• Sneak Peek to Meghan and Paul's Wedding

I couldn't resist but to share these beautiful photos from a wedding Kelsey Events coordinated this past Saturday at Franciscan Gardens down in San Juan Capistrano. Our photographer Brittany of Brittany Rene Photography was kind enough to share these photos as a little sneak peek! This was my first time working with Brittany, and I'm sure it will not be the last!!

Have a great Tuesday everyone!! XO

  • Nordstrom - Wedding Suite

Today I surprisingly found my self wandering the new department setup at Nordstrom Brea, (okay maybe not so surprising...). I immediately recalled hearing that the new Wedding Suite was, as of Friday, now open! I hightailed it over to the new department area to see what exactly was going on. I met the sweetest young woman who gave me the low down on this fabulous new spot for brides (and it's at Nordstrom!)

The Wedding Suite is located on the second floor in the north west corner. They have a fabulous selection of bridal gowns, as Nordstrom did not carry bridesmaid dresses in the past, they are tailoring this particular area to carry dresses that cater to bridesmaids, finally! They even have some Monique Lhuillier brand bridesmaid dresses that retail for less than $250! There's also a SUPER fun collection of white and ivory dresses that could be used for bridal shower, bachelorette party, engagement party or even for second dress changes on wedding night. The whole department is centered with a beautiful display of shoes, jewelry, and other accessories. All tailored for bridal needs!

The department ladies can work the whole store for you if necessary. Style your bridesmaids, groomsmen, family and you! Of course the alterations department at Nordstrom is always great and will get the perfect fit for all your needs. They can even throw a small party in the back room of the department for you and your girls on bridesmaid shop day or help you set up your honeymoon plans.

As we all know, I'm a big Nordstrom fan, and they get big brownie points from me for designing a special department just for brides.

(note: Nordstrom locations in California that now have Wedding Suite - Nordstrom BREA, Canoga Park, San Jose, and San Francisco.)

Check out some of what you will find at the Wedding Suite in the wedding section of nordstrom.com

  • Wedding and Event Venue - Serra Plaza

Nestled near the historic Los Rios District, just moments from the beautiful Mission San Juan Capistrano lies a hidden jewel, Serra Plaza. This venue has lovely old world charm with a fresh new feel! I've had the opportunity to visit this unique venue and am happy to say that their website has launched and in full swing! If you're looking for a venue for your wedding or special event that will set you apart from the others, be sure to check out Serra Plaza. The website looks fantastic and I can't wait to work on this property!

  • found - vintage rentals "shindig"

If many of you haven't noticed (which I'm sure you all have), vintage is IN! There are so many different things you can do with a vintage look and the resources we have here in Orange County and Los Angeles are never ending, you just have to know where to look! Whether using an old trunk with brass buckles covered in lovely lush garden flowers as a delicate addition to your cocktail hour or vintage wooden doors as a grand entrance for your guests into your ceremony, you will not be lost when entering Jeni Maus' fabulous studio and warehouse at found vintage rentals in the heart of Downtown Fullerton.

I had the pleasure of attending found's "shindig" and open house tour of Jeni and her husband (Joel Eckman Maus of Studio EMP Photography) studio, and warehouse just a few steps away. It was MAGICAL! I have never seen such a fabulous selection of vintage rentals! I can't wait to incorporate these pieces into some vintage inspired weddings and events.

Jeni and I in her warehouse of wonders!!

Studio EMP - Jeni and Joel's combined studio, adorned with everything vintage of course!

More fabulous - ness (I know, a made up word). LOVE ALL OF IT!

My good friend/flea market lover/found fan/and ever amazing makeup artist Carina of Flawless Faces

Thanks Jeni for having us! The cookies I took home were delicious, I think I might need the leftovers!

  • Real Wedding - Vibiana

I have to say that the Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles is by far one of the most gorgeous and regal venues around. I'm happy to say that I coordinated a wedding there last Saturday and it was a fabulous success. The love and appreciation that poured from the bride and groom and their families was overwhelming and always makes my job so worthwhile!!! Thank you Thao and Luan, and congratulations you fabulous people! XO

    Thao's "Cloud 9" titled email -

    Good morning, sweetie!

Still waking up from my dream wedding...a thousand thank yous for your excellent work!  Both our parents loved and raved about you but I have to say I love and appreciate you the most!  So much to say so we need to get together & chat.  Lu and I would love to take you and Will out for dinner.  You two are awesome!

  • Hyatt Regency Newport Beach Bridal Show!

It was with great pleasure that Kelsey Events was a part of the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach Bridal Show on May 23, 2010. I had a wonderful time putting together my beautiful table mock up with help from Fusion Linens for all my linens and chiavari chairs, and Jenny B Floral Design for the beautiful flowers! I was delighted to be able to meet some wonderful new vendors at a property that I have not had the chance to work at yet. Being able to talk with brides about their wedding day, of course was my favorite part. It's always so great to hear brides getting excited about their wedding days and talking about all the wonderful elements that have involved. I'm looking forward to hearing from some of the the lovely ladies I had a chance to talk to!

Thankfully my wonderful friend Jim Kennedy, of Jim Kennedy Photographers was able to take some photos of my table! Thank you everyone who helped me with this wonderful show!!!

  • Thank You

Welcome to my blog! And thank you for visiting my website! As this is my first blog post accompanied by the launch of my website, I thought I might take this "space" to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the support I have received from friends, family, colleagues, future clients, and EVERYONE in between. I could not have asked for a better response that what I have received.

I'm excited to begin creating relationships that will last a lifetime (yes I know that sounds cheesy), but I have no other way to explain it. Coordinating weddings and working with future "Mr. and Mrs" as well as the team of vendors that I have had the pleasure of meeting, excites me to no end.  I want not to forget to thank the special group of people that have given me the opportunity to do this and do it the way I have always dreamed!I would not be where I am today without the "story" of how I really found my way to this. I always knew that I loved weddings. Loved attending weddings. Loved being a part of something incredibly special and having a great time. Could I have not realized this on my own, that weddings were my destination career? I suppose I could have, but in my memory lies my girlfriend Michelle, saying to me at her wedding rehearsal in August 2007 (as I tried to take over), "You should really think about becoming a wedding planner, you would be great at it." Don't know if she meant because I was trying to take over her wedding or if she really saw potential in me, but yes friends, that's all it took... although it took me about 2 years to figure out what she really meant by that, I will always remember that moment.

Thank you family for being an incredible support group. Through my trials and tribulations of deciding what to do with myself, you have always helped me uphold my confidence and passion for anything that I encounter.

To my meantor, Kevin Covey. Thank you for teaching me EVERYTHING that I have learned. I am so blessed to have met you, had the chance to work with you on stunning events, and develop a friendship with lasting meaning to me! You are a true icon and you are smart as hell! I can not thank you enough!Last but not least (and only because of chronilogical order), Joe and Mirta Barnet from Barnet Photography! I had the pleasure of spending some time with them while they shot some very fun and cute head shots of me for my website (as seen on the "About" page). I can't thank you enough for taking time out of your busy wedding schedule to do this for me. I had a blast and can't wait to work on weddings with you! I'm posted some more of the photos from the shoot that I was not able to include in the website, but definitely deserve to be seen. We had some great laughs! Thank you!!!!

I plan on updating my blog weekly, and it will be full of wedding goodies, including fabulous ideas, stunning events, and anything and everything I can share about weddings in general. Please check back soon! ALL MY LOVE!
